Viagra Decreases Blood Vessel Inflammation

Many cases of erectile dysfunction are linked to blood vessel disease. In fact, erection problems are early predictors of heart attack. Inflammation is an important predictor of cardiovascular disease and poor metabolic health. A study from Athens Medical School in Greece found that the erection-promoting drug Viagra (sildenafil) decreased markers of inflammation such as fibrinogen, C-reactive protein and tumor necrosis factor-alpha. Viagra may improve metabolic health and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, in addition to its effects on erections.
