Reduce the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes

Dairy Foods - Reduce the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes
Dairy foods are considered an important part of a well-balanced, healthy diet. Chinese researchers combined the results of seven well-controlled studies, using a technique called meta-analysis. People who consumed the highest amounts of dairy foods showed a 14 percent reduction in the risk of type 2 diabetes compared to people who consumed the lowest amount of dairy foods. Consuming high-fat dairy foods or milk was not associated with an increased risk of diabetes. Consuming yogurt had the greatest impact of the various types of dairy foods in reducing the risk of the disease. (European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 65: 1027-1031)
