The recent Arnold Classic was a memorable one, indeed, especially for the men and women who arrived in Columbus as an amateur and left as IFBB pros. One of them was Stanislas de Longeaux, better known as ‘The Stanimal.’ The current Los Angeles resident and Liftag sponsored athlete placed second in the Men’s Physique Division and hit the jackpot in only his fifth month of competing.
The 26-year-old began training eight years ago after his free time playing sports such as basketball, soccer, tennis fencing and judo became limited. So he needed to stay in shape and had no aspirations to compete.
“I did it just to build a stronger and more athletic physique,” he says.
But by 2013, he had come far enough and took the stage in his native Paris, where he placed second in both MPD and fitness model at the Musclemania Europe. A month later, de Longeaux took sixth at the NPC Iron Games in Culver City and second at the Musclemania World in Las Vegas.
Now that he has his pro card, de Longeaux aspires to make a living in the fitness industry. “I’m not sure exactly how right now, but I want to do that – one way or another,” he comments. “And I want to keep building the body I visualize and dream of – drug free!
“I just wanted to give some credit to my coach and add that Markus Pener (from Liftag) hooked me me with Body by Kirk (Kirk Chittick), the best coach/nutritionist I could have wished for and made me do huge progress in a very short period of time and really understood my body and metabolism to bring me at my absolute best on the Arnold stage. And of course I would also like to give credit to Liftag Sport”
