FitnessRx for Men is proud to announce that two celebrated authors will join the magazine as regular columnists, offering their expertise on two extremely popular trends in the fitness world.
Joe De Sena is the co-founder of increasingly popular Spartan Race and the author of SPARTAN UP! A Take-No-Prisoners Guide to Overcoming Obstacles and Achieving Peak Performance in Life— which reached the number 2 spot on the New York Times Best Sellers list in early June.
The Spartan Race has become a multimillion dollar global lifestyle company in less than 10 years, and was voted Best Obstacle Race by Outside magazine. Joe’s Q+A column in FitnessRx for Men features questions from readers on race preparation, staying fit, overcoming race obstacles and much more. His vast knowledge and experience of obstacle course training will provide real-world, practice advice that our target audience can apply to obstacle course racing as well as their regular training.
The second new column in FitnessRx for Men is by J.C. Herz, a Harvard-educated former New York Times columnist, and former rock critic and tech writer for Rolling Stone and Wired magazines. The three-time author, who most recently published her book Learning to Breathe Fire: The Rise of CrossFit and the Primal Future of Fitness, will focus her column on the fitness phenomenon of CrossFit that continues to rise in popularity.
In her new book, J.C. goes behind the scenes with CrossFit’s founders, stars, and everyday enthusiasts to explore the science of why CrossFit works— which mirrors what her column will focus on in FitnessRx for Men. J.C.’s column will provide a unique look at the fitness craze that has taken the world by storm— offering insightful tips and advice on how to get the most out of CrossFit.
Joe De Sena’s obstacle course column debuted in the July issue of FitnessRx for Men, and J.C. Herz’s CrossFit column will debut in the September issue— on sale July 29.
