Marijuana Impairs Sexual Function

Marijuana Impairs Sexual Function
Marijuana has been linked to wild sex since the advent of birth control, and the free love generation of the 1960s. Many people think that getting stoned turns them into crazy sex machines.

A review of literature by researchers from the Department of Urology at the University of Ottawa in Canada concluded that some older studies showed that marijuana improved sexual function. More recent studies showed that it causes deterioration in sexual health by blocking receptors in the penis that are critical for erections. The widespread legalization of medical marijuana and possible general legalization of the drug during the next few years makes it important for scientists to study the link between marijuana and sexual function more closely.
